Aspheric lenses are elements in which at least one surface is rotationally symmetric about the optical axis but is not spherical in nature. Aspheres are used in many optical assemblies and allow for improved performance with a reduced number of optical elements
Our aspheres are made from glass and quartz (typically using materials from SCHOTT, OHARA or CDGM). Moreover, we offer aspheric lenses of IR materials (such as ZnS, ZnSe, Ge, Si, CaF2) and metal mirrors.
CLASSIFICATIONS
- Convex and concave aspheric lenses
- Bi-aspheric lenses
- Rotationally symmetric aspheric lenses
TECHNOLOGY & MANUFACTURING EQUIPMENT
CNC grinding, CNC polishing, computer controlled polishing, diamond turning, MRF
METROLOGY & QUALITY ASSURANCE
MLOptic offers optical metrology, including surface profilometry and interferometry to verify specifications are met for fabricated optics. We inspect 100% of all optical elements during the manufacturing process and provide complete test data reporting for prototypes, as requested.
Tactile Measurement: Taylor Hobson PGI1250
Measurement of parts up to 200mm in diameter, stitching of high-departure lens data is possible. The highest precision measurement provided for high-departure aspheric lenses is P-V 0.15μm.
Non-tactile Measurement: Taylor Hobson LUPHO Scan
Fast non-contact 3D interferometric scanning of aspheric optics. Maximum tested element dimensions: 260mm (Diameter) x 75mm (height); Accuracy (P2V): ±50nm
Interferometric Measurement
6-inch Sub-Aperture Stitching Interferometer (SSi) for precision optics to measure high numerical aperture and large clear aperture parts up to 300mm. In addition, we can provides transmitted wavefront testing and QED SSI combined with MRF polishing correction.
